Demerit entries
Check what the notice says, which records establish the current status and whether section 30a FSG is cited.
A notice, a demerit entry and a withdrawal are not the same. Classification starts with the document heading, operative part, reasons and the legal provision cited by the authority.
Section 30a FSG governs the demerit system. Withdrawal of a driving entitlement is separate and is governed in particular by section 24 FSG.
Separate notice, entry and withdrawal
A notice is the document you received. A demerit entry is the legal classification under section 30a FSG. A withdrawal is ordered by decision and concerns the driving entitlement under section 24 FSG. The document title alone does not settle the distinction.
Read heading, operative part and reasons
- Heading: does the document call itself a notice, demerit communication or decision?
- Operative part: does it order something concerning the driving entitlement or only communicate an entry?
- Reasons: which facts and which FSG provision does the authority rely on?
- Information on legal remedies: is it present and which decision does it concern?
Documents needed to trace the record
Keep the current document with all attachments and service information. Add earlier entries only from available notices or records. The demerit status check shows which document to review next, not whether a legal consequence has occurred.
Choose the next page from the operative part
The glossary entry on demerit entries explains section 30a FSG. If the operative part orders withdrawal or another measure concerning the entitlement, continue with the withdrawal glossary entry and the licence withdrawal page.
This overview provides general information on Austrian administrative driving licence law. It does not replace legal review of the actual file.
